Marie was bruised up and had a broken nose. Gardner was sentenced last year to 20 years. He must serve 70 percent of the sentence before he becomes eligible for parole. Marie was also known as Ree and she unwillingly left three sons who love her.

  1. That is so sad,she was so young and her children that was left behind. Why would a person do this to another person. Why do men think women are their property and can use a woman as a punching bag. It is amazing that they are so weak and pathitic to beat a woman. Can't they fight a man. What does beating a women prove, that you are a sissy. They are mentally ill and should be treated as such by the law. I bet while their in prison they will someones woman and see what its like on the other side of the fence.

  2. It has to be something primal because it happens so often and makes no sense.

Dear Blue wall, this was and is a tragedy, I was a long time friend of this wonderful lady. Her boys are doing well, she would be proud of their strength. Her family keeps in close contact with the children and I keep my eye on them as my children are in school with them. I appreciate this website as it lets the facts speak to uninvolved unbiased people. RIP Marie, I love you!!

  4. Thank you for sharing how the kids are - and your approval, as someone who knew and loved Marie, means a lot to me.
