[Excerpts] A Montgomery County police officer has been ordered to stay away from his wife and children - for a second time - after his estranged wife says he threatened her with a gun and pointed a Taser at their 4-year-old daughter. Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Craven banished Officer Gregory Wallace Phillips from his house, wife and two kids - including his 4-year-old's day care center - for two months ending Jan. 10. Phillips' "history of violence and controlling conduct created fear in [his wife, Christen Geiler]. In addition, [Phillips] has used a [unloaded] Taser in effort to discipline 4-year-old," the judge wrote in his ruling, which extended an Oct. 25 protective order... A Montgomery County police forensic psychologist interviewed the child regarding the Taser incident... The order prohibits Phillips from carrying his gun, so the Montgomery County Police Department has assigned him to "administrative duty"... This is the second time Phillips has been ordered to stay away from his family. In September 2005, a Montgomery County District Court judge demanded that he leave the couple's home and stay away from Geiler for roughly one year. The court ruled that Geiler needed protection after Phillips "called [Geiler] and told her that he was going to kill her and the parties' unborn baby"... "Phillips has a history of violence," the document continued. Geiler, who works in the New Media and Web Policy department at the National Institutes of Health, says Phillips "has put me in handcuffs in the kitchen in front of my daughters [and] I would cry and ask - beg him to stop.
