[MD] State Police Trooper Timothy McKendrick has been suspended without pay after a former girlfriend accused him of pointing a gun at her and threatening to shoot her. She has filed a complaint against him saying that he assualted her earlier this month. McKendrick says that Britton was trespassing on his property and that he was pointing the gun at the floor when he asked her to leave. He has filed a complaint against her also. (This happened at HIS house.)


[CA] Del Norte County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Schneck was arrested by Crescent City Police Department officers on suspicion of domestic violence - suspicion of willfully inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant. He is free after posting $40,000 bail. Sheriff's Cmdr. Bill Steven described the circumstances surrounding the domestic violence allegations as “extremely minor,” saying it was “just a little bit of pushing or whatnot”... Steven said Schneck has been placed on administrative leave with pay... [Full article here]


[ND] Sargent County Sheriff's Deputy David Kozok is on paid administrative leave after being arrested in Fargo, charged with disorderly conduct. Police were called to the Ramada hotel at 3 a-m on Tuesday on a report of a domestic assault involving his girlfriend. Fargo Police say Kozok was the "primary aggressor" in the situation. [FL] Fort Myers Police Lt. Jeffery Bernice says he didn't know he had taken a prescription pain killer that wasn't prescribed to him. He says it's his wife's fault. She gave it to him. Bernice has been suspended for 80 hours without pay, will receive random monthly drug testing for six months, and will serve a six-month suspension as SWAT commander. [Full article here]


[WA] Seattle Police Officer Felton Miles whose firing over a 2007 domestic-violence incident was later overturned has filed a federal civil-rights lawsuit alleging the department failed to give him a fair hearing and damaged his reputation. [LINK]


[CT] Hartford Police Officer Christopher White, accused of assaulting his ex-wife and her boyfriend and threatening to kill her in July, has been denied entry into a state counseling program by Enfield Superior Court Judge Richard Dyer - citing the "wide chasm between the accounts of the parties and the police report." [CT] SEYMOUR Officer Police Officer Thomas "Tom" Scharf who was accused of stalking a law enforcement officer girlfriend in 2006, but not charged, now accused of hacking into email account(s) of other officer(s). His consequences? Forfeiting five vacation day in lieu of suspension. Wow. [LINK]


[NY] NEW ROCHELLE unidentified officer was treated at Sound Shore Medical Center and removed from duty. A 29-year-old New Rochelle man is facing a serious assault charge after injuring a city police officer who went to his home to quell a domestic disturbance. [LINK]


[FL] Ex-Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Jackson Burns is accused of severely beating his girlfriend's head and strangling her. A SWAT team went to his home and arrested him after she was found on the side of the road. He's charged with aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery by strangulation, both felonies. She had fled the home, where her child still was. The girlfriend was hospitalized on trauma alert and her conditin is unknown. [LINK]


[NY] New York State Police Official Major Charles Day Transferred Over Domestic Dispute Scandal - The commander of Gov. David A. Paterson’s State Police security detail will be reassigned following an independent counsel’s report last week that raised questions about the officer’s conduct in a domestic dispute case involving one of Mr. Paterson’s top aides... [OH] Findlay Police Sgt. Randall Digby, under investigation for an undisclosed reason, resigned in June.


[NC] Hundreds gather to honor Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Jon Willis, killed responding to domestic violence call. Fellow Deputy Jamie Sugg says, "We're never going to forget Jon, everything were going to do in his memory. We're going to keep looking after each other as a family and just keep supporting one another." Willis leaves behind two children a son and daughter. His fellow deputies say they are what mattered most to him. [LINK]


[CA] Senior Deputy District Attorney John Mario Ruiz - Riverside County coroner's officials have declared Ruiz's death a suicide, though his death was initially reported as "suspicious." Investigators determined Ruiz, a longtime prosecutor with the District Attorney’s office, stabbed himself with a kitchen knife. He is survived by his wife, son and other relatives.


[CA] Resigned San Jose Police Officer Denise Lai killed her mother, Carolyn Ninomiya, in Los Banos - and was herself found with multiple stab wounds. Lai remains in custody at the Merced County Jail. She is being held on suspicion of murder and elder abuse. Lai's bond amount was previously set at $1 million, but the Los Banos Police Department now says she's being held without bail.


[OH] Navarre Police Chief Scott W. Bauschka apparently committed suicide, six months after resigning amid a Stark County Sheriff’s Department investigation. Bauschka is divorced and has a stepdaughter, a teenage son and daughter and one grandchild. “He kind of lost contact with everybody when he resigned”... [Full article here]


[NY] Albany Police Officer Steven G. Silver suspended without pay for allegedly "shoving" ex-girlfriend. No details. [LINK]


[OH] Former Lorain police Officer Stanley Marrero is headed back to Lorain County Common Pleas Court after an appellate court said a judge was wrong to dismiss the indictment of sexual assault against him. Marrero was convicted in September 2008 of misdemeanor charges of intimidating a witness, public indecency and dereliction of duty and was sentenced to two months in jail. Marrero was also indicted for two counts each of rape, sexual battery, gross sexual imposition and a single count of menacing by stalking. [Full article here and here]


[NC] Marshall police officer Joshua Edwards, son of police chief Craig Edwards, is charged with assault on his girlfriend. Former alderman Betty Wild said she argued strongly against hiring the chief’s son, and on Monday said the town did have a policy against it and ignored that policy when he was hired.
