[FL] Deputy Young arrested a whole month after breaking into ex's, threatening with a shotgun

WEST PALM BEACH - A Palm Beach County deputy forced his way into his ex-girlfriend's home and put a gun to the chest of a man he found hiding in her closet, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office reported. Ronald Young, 39, was arrested and charged Thursday with aggravated assault and burglary. The break-in reportedly occurred Sept. 16 while Young was off duty. Young was stopped by fellow deputies after the man called 911. [LINK]

An off-duty Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputy stormed into his ex-girlfriend's house, confronted a man hiding in her closet and shoved the barrel of a gun into the man's chest, authorities said. On Thursday, a month after the Sept. 16 incident, Deputy Ronald Young was arrested on burglary and aggravated assault charges... He was confronted by fellow sheriff's deputies after the man called 911 from outside the house. Authorities moved forward with arresting him after forwarding the case for review by the state attorney's office. A judge Friday set Young's bail at $53,000. He remained on house arrest late Friday. ...Boca pizza cook accused of threatening to shoot waitress over order for threatining a waitress with a weapon he had in a holster. The 51-year-old Coral Springs resident was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with intent to commit a felony and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail. Bond was set at $50,000. Why didn't the PB Deputy receive the same exact charge?...

...This guy breaks into his EX-girlfiends house, threatens a guy with a gun on SEPTEMBER 16th, and finally gets charged on OCTOBER 15th. If any private citizen pulled this stunt they would have been arrested, handcuffed, printed, photographed, processed, and at the PB County jail inside of 3 hours. Why does this case take a month and is this guy walking the streets in the meantime, if not going to work? I'll tell you why, because there are two types of justice...

  1. It was discovered that this Deputy was set up by his Ex and her new boyfriend. He was cleared of all charges AND got his job back. Also received back-pay (rightfully so). It's funny how some of you convict this man without knowing any of the facts.
