[IL] Tressa again.

A former Macomb police officer was arrested on a felony warrant Thursday for threatening to kill his [McDonough County 911 County Dispatcher] estranged wife [Tressa]... The criminal charges against Schisler were dismissed in November 2004, partly because of a request from his estranged wife. His attorney later said the couple was attempting reconciliation...I GUARANTEE you that NO WOMAN can file CHOKING charges on an officer and have him ARRESTED without red bruised swelling evidence encircling her neck. A woman cannot just say he choked me and have her cop husband carried away. Add his beligerance, refusing to give up his weapons, and you begin to believe Tressa that this is not the first attack or first threat that she will die. You begin to understand she lives like this. He goes to jail, he bonds right back out, and there is Tressa. Afraid. The man she fears now is in high risk of losing his powerful job, unless she calls herself a liar. The Macomb officials ACCEPTED that in 2004. Despite any evidence, this court - and many others - let terrified and beaten victims walk back into court and say they made it all up - CALL THEMSELVES LIARS IN DESPERATE EXTREME ATTEMPTS TO SAVE THEIR OWN LIVES, BECAUSE the local government & court systems in general APPARENTLY have a deep SYMPATHY for officers at risk of losing their right to carry a weapon - a right removed if convicted of anything "domestic." The court & officials often (usually?) want the abusive officer to at least be able to go to another jurisdiction and get a brand new start. [Is it a man thing?] The victim WILL walk back into court and WILL call herself a liar because she cannot imagine another way to try to save her life once she sees that she is now in MORE danger than before she reached for help, and is completely

on her own
&
unprotected.

Some resovle to live in the eye of the storm by complying with their abusers commands. [Don't judge unless you've lived through this.]

She WILL call herself a liar, publicly, because when you live around the clock in fear of death,

pride no longer matters.

Will Tressa survive? Or will I be "memorializing" her too.

God please help her. Surround her with Your angels and infuse her with Your strength, wisdom, and peace.

People, stop sitting by as passive observers just shaking your heads.

When I saw this recent article I dug up Schisler in my records, I found the old articles, and I also found my RANT, for TRESSA, and for all the Tressa's. I will add those to the "comments" section.

Ex-police officer accused of threatening to kill wife
JOURNAL STAR, NV
December 22, 2007
A former Macomb police officer was arrested on a felony warrant Thursday for threatening to kill his estranged wife. Tim Schisler, 44, of Macomb is charged with one felony count of telephone harassment. He was arrested on the warrant Thursday night in Tazewell County. According to court files, Schisler called his former wife, Tressa Schisler, and threatened to "cut her head." Schisler was previously arrested in 2003 for striking his estranged wife and for failing to surrender his gun to police, a requirement of an order of protection. He also was charged with threatening Tressa Schisler during a verbal and physical argument [?] at their home in October 2003. Prior to that arrest, Schisler had been an officer with the Macomb Police Department for 13 years. He had reached the rank of sergeant by the time he resigned that job. He quit after the Macomb Fire and Police Commission found he violated departmental rules but before a punishment was decided. The criminal charges against Schisler were dismissed in November 2004, partly because of a request from his estranged wife. His attorney later said the couple was attempting reconciliation. Schisler was released from the Tazewell County Jail on Friday morning after posting $10,000 bond. The warrant also orders him [So?] not to have contact with Tressa Schisler.

TRESSA, YOU ARE WORTHY OF NOT LIVING IN FEAR THIS WAY.
I AM SORRY FOR ALL THE DAYS AND NIGHTS AND INBETWEENS THAT YOU HAVE CRIED, TREMBLED, IMAGINED, LEPT AT THE SMALLEST NOISE.

WHAT I WROTE WHILE HOLDING YOU IN MY HEART IN 2004. IT WAS A MORE PRIVATE SETTING, SO I SAID MORE OF WHAT I THOUGHT HOW I THOUGHT IT THAN I DO ON THIS BLOG. I AM NOT GOING TO FIX IT UP.

    AS IS:

[IL] Officer Schisler's Case dropped - And we trudge on...
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/police_dv/message/1984

Ask me how much I read this kind of crap or how many of these cases end the same. Go ahead. I lay in bed thinking stupid things like

    It's illegal.
    There oughta be a law.
    They can't do this.

I went to the group folder to pull up the old stuff on Schisler.
    DAMN!

The only logical response is to argue, given the percentages of cases that are dropped or arbitrated, that trying to hold officers accountable is a waste of tax payer money. A waste of time.

    We trudge on,
    still only imagining
the light at the end of the lonnnnnnnnnnng
    and dismally darrrrrrrrrrk tunnel.

REALISTICALLY, even with new federal laws to "encourage" departments to HAVE an officer-involved dv policy, it will be generations, if ever,

until partners of law enforcement officers and public officials get even the weak and insufficient protections that are killing the women all around us who DON'T have these added dangers
    and obstacles to justice.

    But we gotta trudge on,
    like we believe,
or it is guaranteed that nothing will ever happen.

To understand the last article, I want to present the unsaid from earlier articles. To understand what "case" was "dropped"... and even THIS is without details. The language of Tressa's abuse is very general in any reporting. The language never includes the word "stand-off" either, though there obviously WAS one...

    OH TRESSA.

...Reports indicate Schisler told officers serving the order he was not going to surrender his weapons. Police later went to his house and removed an unknown number of guns.

    WHAT DID *THAT* TAKE?

A Macomb police sergeant accused of beating his wife resigned Tuesday less than an hour before the punishment phase of his disciplinary hearing was scheduled to begin.

WHICH MEANS THERE CAN BE STILL BE A GUN TOTIN' UNDESERVING OFFICER BY COMING BACK OR GOING ELSEWHERE... WAS IT REALLY A SURPRISE? OR ARE THESE SHOWS ORCHESTRATED? WHAT DV?

Testimony was closed to the public...

    WHAT A PUBLIC SERVANT!

The commission found Schisler guilty of violating department rules in
six incidents and not in violation in five others.

DOES IT MATTER? SO! WHY BOTHER? HOPE THEY USED RECYCLED PAPER.

Schisler was charged in each incident with multiple allegations
    including

    unbecoming conduct

    immoral conduct

    disobeying orders and

not having respect for the law.

    JUST WHAT WE NEED.

    Schisler was charged with

domestic battery for allegedly striking and choking his wife, Tressa

BRUISES? NO BRUISES? RATHER NOT SAY? WHEN MEDIA MATES WITH GOVERNMENT, WHAT DO THE BABIES LOOK LIKE?

while he was on duty and

    in uniform.

    He also

    ALSO

was charged with violating an order of protection obtained Oct. 15 by his wife .

    SO!

    Schisler is free on bond...

    GREAT.

The McDonough County state's attorney amended charges in January, so they now consist of four counts of domestic battery and one count of violating an order of protection.

I CLOSE MY EYES AND TRY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THOSE "FOUR COUNTS" REPRESENT. THAT'S FOUR TRESSA COULD BRING TO COURT. HOW MANY CRUELTIES AND DAYS, MOMENTS OF FEAR LAID BETWEEN/ AMONGST THE

FOUR? AND WHAT IS A COUNT OF STRANGULATION BY THE HANDS OF A POWERFUL MAN? WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE? WHAT GOES THROUGH YOUR HEAD? ARE YOU SURE YOU'RE GONNA DIE? HOW MANY MOMENTS OF NOT BEING STRANGLED DO YOU CONTEMPLATE YOUR DEATH TRESSA?

HE HIT AND CHOKED TRESSA. I CAN'T GET PASSED BEING CHOKED BY HIM TO MOVE ONTO WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE BEAT

    BY A MAN.
    I HAVE NEVER BEEN

    BEAT BY A MAN.
    I CANNOT

    IMAGINE IT.

    OH TRESSA.

New charges include allegations of past incidents of domestic batteries in January, September and May 2003.

    <0> <0>

    AND IF THINGS SAID
    COULD BE COUNTED,
    AND EVERY SLUG...

According to the commission, Schisler violated departmental rules during alleged domestic batteries against his wife on Sept. 2 and Oct. 15 of last year.

SO WHAT? I DON'T GET IT. WHY LIST IT?
    WHY COUNT IT?
WHY NOT JUST SAY IT OUT LOUD.
    IN MALCOMB WIFE BEATING IS

UNDERSTOOD. WE WILL STAGE A RESPONSE FOR YOU.
    IF I WAS A MAN
    AN AFRICAN AMERICAN MAN
    AND BEAT A WOMAN
OR ANYONE AT LEAST FOUR TIMES - TO INCLUDE

    CHOKING THEM
AND INCITED A STANDOFF TO NOT SURRENDER MY WEAPONS -
PICTURE ME WITH THE SWAT TEAM SURROUNDING MY HOUSE...

The commission also found him guilty of violating rules for removing
his gun and gun belt while on duty,

HE SHOULD HAVE LEFT IT ON WHILE HE KICKED HER ASS?
    HE SHOULD KNOW THAT!

refusing to hand over his keys to a superior officer

    AND?

verbally harassing his wife while she worked at the county's 911 center

I WONDER HOW THAT SOUNDED... CAN WE GET SOME WORDS?

and for using insulting language and profanity toward two superior officers.

OH TELL US WHAT HE SAID

Schisler was found NOT IN VIOLATION during alleged domestic batteries against his wife on July 22, 2002, and Jan. 16 and May 7 of last year.

WHICH IS WHY IT WAS BETTER THAT WE JUST NEVER HEARD ABOUT ACTUAL BRUISING OR INJURIES IN ANY OF THE REPORTS... JUST "ALLEGED INCIDENTS"

The commission also found him NOT IN VIOLATION in an incident that involved his wife's order of protection and in a 2001 incident in which he threatened his wife with the suggestion he was going to commit suicide.

CRYSTAL KNEW THE FULL IMPACT OF THE FEAR OF LIVING WITH A SUICIDAL MAN.
    SO DO HER CHILDREN.

LONG DAYS. LONG NIGHTS. NOT MUCH OF A LIFE TRESSA.

The commission did not release its reasons for the not-in-violation findings.

WELL LOOKY THERE. DON'T YOU JUST HAVE TO WONDER WHY?
    HMMMM....

A hearing was scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. to determine Schisler's penalty for the rule violations, but his resignation letter was handed in at 1:24 p.m.

    TALK ABOUT

    PERFECT TIMING.

I'M POSTING THAT LAST ARTICLE AGAIN,
BECAUSE NOW I THINK IT CAN BE

    BETTER UNDERSTOOD:

    Case dropped against ex-officer
    Tuesday, November 30, 2004
    BY JODI POSPESCHIL
    OF THE JOURNAL STAR

MACOMB - The criminal case against a former Macomb police officer has been dismissed, at least in part because of a request from his wife. Tim , 40, had been charged with four counts of domestic battery, all misdemeanors, against his wife, Tressa Schisler. All four counts were dismissed recently during a teleconference between the attorneys in the case and a local circuit judge.

Tressa Schisler signed the dismissal request in the court file on Oct. 27, but no further information about the dismissal was available from prosecutors Monday. The charges were officially dismissed Nov. 16.

Tim Schisler had been a sergeant with the Macomb Police Department, working for 13 years prior to his resignation on Feb. 10. He stepped down between the trial and punishment phases of a city-generated disciplinary hearing, where he was found guilty of violating departmental rules.

The allegations included unbecoming and immoral conduct and disobeying orders.

Tim Schisler was initially arrested in October 2003, after police were summoned to his East Murray Street home about a disturbance.

Tressa Schisler, an emergency dispatcher in McDonough County, told police that her husband hit and choked her. He was in uniform and on duty as a city police officer at the time.

The other domestic battery counts were filed in connection with alleged incidents from January, September and May of 2003.

Tressa Schisler sought an order of protection against her husband. That order of protection also has been dismissed.

Tim Schisler's attorney filed a court document that said the couple is "considering reconciliation" and pursuing marriage counseling.

A 13-year veteran of the Macomb Police Department is on paid administrative leave after charges of domestic battery and violation of an order of protection were filed against him in the McDonough Circuit Court... Schisler's wife accused him of pushing her and choking her. The order of protection she filed against him alleges this was not the first time her husband had become physical with her. She reportedly works as an emergency dispatcher in McDonough County. Court documents stated Schisler was to surrender his firearms, as a special condition of the order of protection. He reportedly failed to comply... He posted $1,000 bond and was released... When asked if Schisler was still employed with the police, Macomb Police Chief Galloway said, "I cannot comment."

I am Tressa. I am a survivor of domestic abuse by my ex-husband who was a police sergeant at the time. Like all victims of domestic abuse, I thought I could change him. He convinced me it was my fault, he was sorry, he would change, we could make it work. Well, I tried. It didn’t work and after 6 years of him controlling the divorce case because he couldn’t control me anymore, I was finally granted a divorce. Thank you for your support.

    1. Hi Tressa. I am smiling rereading this blog post and the comments I made. I guess your situation really had me going didn't it? In one of the comments I mentioned Crystal. She was the wife of the police chief where I live. She tried to get help and couldn't and her husband's crimes were covered up, until he committed murder suicide, taking her life with his own just feet away from their two young children. I'm just letting you know so that you know why I mentioned her. It's because of that local tragedy that I even started doing all this.

Thank you for letting us know you're alive, that you got a divorce, and may you continuously shed the damage from the lies about yourself.
