[NYPD] What is the WORTH of beating Officer Sharon Gandarilla?

Is it 60 days of SUSPENDED jail time? Is this what a "misdemeanor" looks like? What are the consequences for NYPD Cpt. Alberto Sanchez claiming a GANG beat up Sharon - until the courts took the time and money to prove otherwise? And a conviction is not enough to fire him? New York Times yesterday said he "may still face Police Department disciplinary charges."

First, excerpts from earlier news:
...SANCHEZ WAS CHARGED WITH SLAPPING THE VICTIM IN THE FACE... SANCHEZ THEN DRAGGED HER BY THE HAIR TO HER CAR, PUSHED HER INTO THE FRONT SEAT, KICKED HER, PREVENTED HER FROM FLEEING AND THEN GOT INTO THE DRIVER’S SEAT AND DROVE OFF. A FEW BLOCKS AWAY, SANCHEZ AGAIN PUNCHED AND KICKED THE VICTIM WHEN SHE TRIED TO ESCAPE FROM THE CAR... SHE WAS TREATED IN AN EMERGENCY ROOM FOR BRUISES AND BLACK EYES... THREE MONTHS LATER, SHE SAYS, SANCHEZ ASSAULTED HER AGAIN IN A BRONX PARKING LOT. WHEN COPS ARRIVED ON THE SCENE IN RESPONSE TO 911 CALLS, "SANCHEZ IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AS A CAPTAIN AND ORDERED THE RESPONDING OFFICERS AWAY... IN A 911 TAPE PLAYED FOR THE JURY YESTERDAY, AN UNKNOWN MALE CALLER TOLD AUTHORITIES HE WAS WITNESSING AN ATTACK AND THAT THE MALE ASSAILANT WAS TELLING HIS FEMALE VICTIM, "YOU'RE GOING TO DIE"...

NYPD captain sentenced to 60 days in jail for beating ex-lover

A police captain convicted of assaulting his girlfriend, who was also an officer under his command, was sentenced Thursday to 60 days in jail, 50 hours of community service and three years probation. Alberto Sanchez, 42, was sentenced on a third-degree assault conviction in August for an attack on Sharon Gandarilla, 33. Sanchez, a 20-year veteran, was second in command at the Police Academy and Gandarilla was an instructor. State Supreme Court Justice Richard Carruthers had ordered Sanchez to surrender next Monday, but defense lawyer Marvyn Kornberg went to the Appellate Division and got a stay of the sentence pending appeal of the conviction. Appellate Division Justice Richard Andrias allowed Sanchez to remain free on $10,000 cash bail. Sanchez was acquitted of a second misdemeanor charge of unlawful imprisonment... Sanchez dragged Gandarilla out to her car, where he beat and kicked her, prosecutors said. They said he warned away civilians who sought to intervene, indicating that he was a police officer "on the job"...

60 DAYS IN JAIL FOR 'BEAT' COP
New York Post, NY

As he beat his cop mistress on a Greenwich Village sidewalk last fall, Capt. Alberto Sanchez brushed off an NYU security guard who tried to intercede, telling him, "I'm on the job." Those words came back to haunt Sanchez yesterday... "'I'm on the job.' You spoke those words as you savagely beat Sharon Gandarilla," Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Richard Carruthers said to Sanchez. "Your obvious intention was to enable you to have your way," the judge said, calling the beating "brutal," "outrageous" and "inexplicable." Sanchez remains free on $10,000 bail and was suspended without pay pending his appeal...
